Bamboo House is located in Da'an, Zhushan, Nantou, featuring traditional Minnan-style architecture constructed with cypress wood, bamboo, red bricks, bamboo shavings, and wooden windows. Nestled at an altitude of 870 meters within a Moso bamboo forest, the area is surrounded by spring water and diverse plant life, creating a microclimate that fosters diverse flora and fauna, including ferns, tree frogs, shrimp, crabs, and fireflies.
Introduction
The historic house, over sixty years old, has been restored using traditional methods while incorporating modern underfloor heating and bathroom facilities, making this classic building both comfortable and inviting. The motivation for restoring the old home was to preserve family memories, providing a space for family gatherings during festivals. During periods of vacancy, it is opened as a guesthouse, allowing guests to experience its rustic beauty, the poetic bamboo forest, and the refreshing natural environment of the Da'an Mountains.
In spring, enjoy the warmth of the fire golden lily; in summer, escape the heat; in autumn, step into the sea of clouds; and in winter, dig for bamboo shoots. The tea pavilion offers a panoramic view of the surrounding mountains, where guests can experience the joy of making tea by fire, while also witnessing the ever-changing mountain weather, with its swirling clouds and misty waterfalls.
The ecological richness of the area is abundant, with ferns, tree frogs, shrimp, crabs, birds, and fireflies readily visible throughout the grounds.
