This homestay, located in one of Taiwan's first military dependents' villages, was originally constructed as barracks for the Japanese army during World War II. After the war, it was repurposed for use by the families of Nationalist soldiers. To adapt to their lifestyles and spatial needs, the residents began to extend and partition the original structures, resulting in a unique architectural blend of Japanese design and Chinese living styles.
Introduction
Named "JIUANDAIQI GUESTHOUSE" the homestay plays on the dual meanings of the word "Jiuan," which conveys hospitality and care. It is our hope that travelers who come here can experience the early life of the dependents' village while also recharging in a comfortable accommodation as they prepare to face their next challenges.
The guest rooms are named "Jiuan-Dai," "Left Neighbor," and "Right Neighbor," reflecting our imagination and longing for the early lifestyles in the dependents' village. In addition to providing a comfortable lodging environment, the homestay also offers space for rent for various activities, such as baby's first birthday celebrations, photography sessions, and exhibitions, allowing more people to come and learn about Huangpu New Village.
